Terms of sale
Plain terms for buying from us. Nothing here takes away the rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act.

2. Placing an order
Your order is placed when your payment goes through. We then email you a confirmation with your order reference. If we cannot supply something you have paid for — a cut is unavailable, or a farm falls short — we will tell you, offer a fair substitute, and refund anything you do not want.
Items marked Price on request cannot be bought online. Ask us on WhatsApp and we will quote you.
3. Prices
Prices are in South African rand and include VAT where VAT applies. The delivery fee, if any, is shown at checkout before you pay — the total you see on the payment page is the total you pay. If a price on the site is clearly wrong, we will contact you before your order is packed and you may cancel for a full refund.
4. Payment
Card payments are processed by Yoco on its secure, PCI-compliant payment page. We never see or store your card details. Your order is only treated as paid once Yoco confirms the payment to us.
5. Weights, boxes and natural variation
- Meat is natural produce, so weights marked ± are approximate. A whole chicken listed at ±1.4–1.6 kg will fall in or very close to that range.
- Meat box contents can change with what the farms have that month. Any swap will be of equal or greater value, and where a box offers a choice of cut we will honour yours whenever we can.
6. Cancelling an order
You can cancel for a full refund until your order is packed — WhatsApp or email us with your order reference. Because our food is perishable and packed to order, the 7-day cooling-off period in section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act does not apply to it: section 42 of that Act excludes foodstuffs intended for everyday consumption. Unopened non-perishable items such as herbs and spices are covered by our returns policy.
7. Quality and your rights
If anything arrives damaged, spoiled, short or not as described, tell us within 24 hours of delivery with a photo and your order reference, and we will replace it or refund you — your choice. This is in addition to, and does not limit, your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, including the right to safe, good-quality goods.
8. Storage and allergies
Keep meat and eggs refrigerated or frozen as soon as they arrive. If you have an allergy or dietary need, ask us before ordering — our herbs and spices are packed by Good Life Organics and their labels list what is in them.
9. Our responsibility
We are responsible for the goods we sell and for delivering them as promised. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect loss, such as a missed event, caused by a late or failed delivery. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that the Consumer Protection Act does not allow us to limit.
10. Complaints and disputes
Please talk to us first — most things are sorted within a day. If we cannot resolve it, you may refer the matter to the National Consumer Commission or the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud. These terms are governed by South African law.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. The version on this page when you place an order is the one that applies to that order.
